UNIVERSAL LOGO INTRO FOR WICKED
This was designed as an homage to the classic 1930’s Universal logo with some modern touches like color, glassy/metallic type, volumetric clouds, and a camera move from closeup to wide to match the modern Universal intro.
It was a delight to pitch and design this for the agency Aspect, director Jon Chu and the filmmakers, and watch it come to life on the big screen.
Close study of the history of Universal logos was key in understanding the esthetic and evolution of the brand.
